The iconica page states you may not alter their icons. Then again, this could be from some other website. Do you have permission to use this icon in this way?

you're wrong the icons are from this set: http://freshmeat.net/projects/iconicawhich are aunder gpl license. so really i can alter them. the page on freshmeat however is unreacheable, probably caused by the name, i can't know anyway they are under gpl, so you can use them as you like :)
