But after a new install the script wont work anymore. So I copied the old /e17 folder to my new /opt -> e works now, but I can't update. The script tells in Section 2 'not found' for all parts of e that should be updated.

Comment for easy_e17.sh by guibo

i use it to build an E17_SVN package for the Mandriva GNU/linux (2009.0 in contrib/backports and cooker release)

I'm on a PC-BSD machine right now, fresh install and had previously tried to install e16 through FreeBSD's ports utility. I had e16 working, but it was plain by itself and KDE was still the boot splash.

PC-BSD's version on KDE sucks IMHO; I crashed it immediately after logging in! There was some discussion on the PC-BSD forms about creating a FreeBSD system with Enlightenment instead of KDE or GNOME.

IDK about anyone else here, but E + BSD = ELITE
Any ideas or takers on this challenge?

P.S. Props to morlenxus and team.

Comment for easy_e17.sh by rocketiii

There's a spelling error in the list of packages names listed above, 'libzine-dev' should be 'libxine-dev'.

I also had to install the packages 'libtheora-dev' (which pulled in other packages (ogg...)) and 'libxkbfile-dev' (for language-module).

Otherwise everything was built successfully on Ubuntu 8.04 x86_64.

Thanks a lot for the script, it's time for me to ditch my 4 year old 'get_e.sh' script (never published)...

Comment for easy_e17.sh by morlenxus

Script is svn ready! It seems to be working fine. I've had a few build issues, but these have been due to missing devel libraries, etc.

Other than that, it seems to compile E17 fine. I will update with a further comment after I have tested the E17 install.

Comment for easy_e17.sh by morlenxus

Please test and give feedback: http://omicron.homeip.net/files/easy_e17_svn_preview.sh

Anyone know when this script might be updated for svn?

These are for a new Ubuntu 8.04 install, and will most likely apply to any Debian-based distro. So here is what I had to install:

For EFL: build-essential automake cvs libimlib2-dev libxrender-dev flex libzine-dev bison gettext libxml-dev libxslt-dev libdbus-1-dev

For evfs: libbz2-dev libsqlite3-dev libcurl4-gnutls-dev libtagc0-dev

For emphasis: libmpd-dev

I did skip these applications: eclair elitaire engycad estickies enthrall rage

Hope this helps some of you.

Comment for easy_e17.sh by slax_mtk

This is really the best E17 install script.
