Yes, the menu is messed up when it has only 1 or 2 items. I cannot figure out why, it might be a bug in my theme, or it might be a bug in E (unlikely). This will be something the next maintainer will have tackle.
To merge the play and pause buttons, you just have to edit the edje theme. Its relatively easy and just a matter of emitting the right signal. If you do not know edje, may be you can enlist some help from the E community.
